SVW Spares the specialist restoration, service and spares provider for MG SA, VA & WA 1930’s motor cars has been sold to John Harris, himself an MG enthusiast
Jason (current manager) explained that for many months he was the sole worker in SVW Spares and among his first tasks was the removal of all spares from Hull to Worcester, a task that involved many journeys and totalled 18,000 miles. He says a telephone was only installed at SVW in the last week or so and that it only rings in the office so can't hear it from the shop floor. The working area is large and several cars were being worked on by the new staff. I saw two Lanchesters, a Jaguar XK 150, three MGs including a VA dhc. Outside there are shipping containers full of SVW spares and two SAs, both in terrible condition. There are more spares inside so the total must weigh many tons. Some 'stuff' is not being stored well due to lack of space - engines, chassis (plural), etc. The two SAs (outside) both have engines, steering gear, axles etc. but the elements are taking their toll.
Jason is promising a better answering service and a better sales service and hopes you all understand his problems.I think he was being sincere but the company is diversifying into other makes. He is probably highly skilled judging by the work I saw and the photos he showed me. John Bates
