Using modern oil seal replacement for rear gearbox seal
Oil Seal Part Number OSI-131-187-43 NZ$4.59 each
OSI = Oil Seal Imperial
Outside diam = 131 = 1" + 0.31" which is the metric inch size for 5/16" Inside diam = 187 = 1" + 0.87" which is the metric inch size for 7/8" Thickness = 43 = 0.43" = metric inch for 7/16"
Apparently this is a common way of naming seals that are imperial measurement
Turn down the propeller shaft flange [MG735/259] to 33.5mm to remove the thread for the lip seal operation.

Making the gaskets
I made them out of 0.4mm gasket material. If you need a template, print these off without scaling on your printer, and they are the correct size for a pattern. If you can print to card material it is even easier to cut and trace onto gasket paper. Elmar
I believe that the gasket for the top cover is the same as the TC and many other Morris -Wolseley boxes and readily available from the usual T series suppliers.
One of the differences between the two gear boxes is the VA 2 part flat rear mounting plate and cast tail extension, this is a single alloy casting on the TC and one of the weak points as the casting frequently cracks when the transmission mounts are worn.
The TC requires a single gasket between the main case and tail section while I believe that the two of the same gasket can be used on the VA.
One between the main case and the flat plate and a second between the plate and the tail extension.
The VA and TC layshafts are the same as are the needle rollers.
