Fasciaboard as called in the Service Parts List also has had several alterations during production. Both designs are seen through all VA models, saloons, tourers and Tickfords. The dash below is the early design up until chassis number XXX
This is the later type of dash
Dashboard of VA 2531 which is a Tickford bodied chassis. Rather special in having two lockable cubby holes
The dashboard centre panel is made of brass but has in good condition the looks of blued metal. This is achieved by the application of a layer of pure silver which consequently is corroded with an acid. The raised horizontal bars are sanded down so the brass shows up. Finally a coat of clear lacquer is applied and lettering to mark the functions of all buttons & knobs. Mostly people these days opt for paint instead of the costly silver process which can look very nice too.

All steering wheels on MG VA's are similar, but the steering centres can be quite different. The centre on the left is like an SA centre and only fitted to the first three VA's
Most VA's will have an octagonal steering centre as shown here. Saloons and Tourers were equal apart from the direction indicator switch which is usually not fitted to a tourer. But as tourers could optionally ex Abingdon be fitted with direction indicators there must be tourers around with this switch.
Of which there seem to be two variations: the earlier one with the MG logo in just bakelite and the later one with the MG logo in chromed metal.
Latest model VA's had this type of steering centre.
